Set iPad to Kiosk Mode (CDS)

Kiosk mode will relaunch the Customer Display Screen (CDS) in the event that it crashes. The Kiosk setting will also prevent customers from hitting the home or power button on the iPad. 



1. In the iPad settings navigate to General -> Accessibility. 


2. Scroll down to the bottom of the Accessibility menu and tap on Guided Access. 


3. Toggle the Guided Access to the ON position, tap on the Passcode settings and "Set Guided Access Password". This password will be required to exit the application manually. Then, toggle the Accessibility Shortcut ON. Once you are in the application you would like to stay open you will click the home button THREE (3) times to bring up this menu. 


4. Once in the application you would like to keep open; the CDS in this case, Triple-Click the home button and the menu will appear. Set the hardware options to the following then tap on the start button. Now, the home button and the power button will not function. To exit the Kiosk mode, you will need to triple click the home button and enter the password you set in step 3 to exit the application.
